Last week, after years of procrastination, I finally bought a Canon Extender EF 2x III while I was at the Photography Show. On Friday I took it up to South Park, Oxford and took the iconic Oxford scene shot that I have wanted to take for so many years:

South Park Oxford at Sunset

Canon EOS 5DS R (190mm, f/10, 13 sec, ISO50)
South Park – Oxford at Sunset

And here is a (almost) black and white (mono) version of the same view:

As a photographer in Oxford, it almost feels like a right of passage to take these photos.  I am very pleased with the Canon telephoto converter, attached to my 70-200 f2.8 lens.  I had read mixed reports about how difficult it can be to use but I have to say that my first experience of it is very pleasing.

Also this week I posted a few more archive photos on Instagram including this one that I took while working for The Landmark Trust:

The Landmark Trust picked this up and re-posted it on their own Instagram feed where it proved very popular.

While I was out n’ about on Friday with my camera I also passed by The White Hart Pub in Headington and took a few photos for the management, this beeing one of them:

And I also posted this one on Instagram:

Thanks for reading, more fun next week.
