Here are a few photos from the first day of Common People Oxford 2017. They include The Beat, The Epstein, The Selecter, Saint Etienne. Vienna Ditto, Groove Armada (DJ set) and headline act Sean Paul. I enjoyed them all, even Sean Paul who I didn’t know and isn’t someone I would normally listen to.
I have always found that festivals are a great way of hearing new music and I also enjoyed seeing some of my old favourites. The Beat is one of the first bands that I ever photographed back in 1981 when I bought myself my first SLR with my first pay packet. In those days I used to do all my own processing at home and used 400ASA film as that was the fastest film I could get at that time.
